Brook Bishop

Experienced healthcare entrepreneur Brook Bishop brings a strong background in operating strategy, management and business development to Spiras Health. Prior to Spiras Health, he co-founded a private healthcare company, BreatheAmerica, Inc., where he led the company from pre-concept to a collective annual revenue of approx. $50 million. The company operates outpatient centers for patients with respiratory and other allergic diseases in nine markets nationwide.

He’s held numerous senior management level roles including Vice President of Development for Surgis where he was responsible for developing activities related to DeNovo’s surgery center growth and acquisition of new centers to his role at Aetna Health in Tennessee where he led complex risk and non-risk contract negotiations with hospital systems and large provider organizations.

David D. Hagaman, M.D.
Chairman Medical Advisory Committee

Dr. David D. Hagaman graduated cum laude from Bowling Green State University in 1983 and completed his MD degree at Ohio State University in Columbus in 1987. His internship and residency in internal medicine were conducted at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, and the Ohio State University in Columbus. Dr. Hagaman remained at Ohio State for a pulmonary and critical care training fellowship from 1991to1993. From 1993 to 1995, he studied at Vanderbilt as an allergy and immunology fellow, which put him on the path to becoming an expert clinical allergist. He later entered private practice and was appointed to the Vanderbilt faculty as adjunct. Dr. Hagaman subsequently joined the lab of Dr. Dean Metcalfe at NIAID where he performed research on mast cell receptors and shared in allergy/immunology consultations.

Dr. Hagaman returned to Vanderbilt in 2001 as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Allergy, Pulmonology, and Immunology and Director of the Allergy/Immunology training program. He served as Chief Operating Officer of the VASAP program from 2001 to 2012.In July of 2012, Dr. Hagaman left Vanderbilt to become the Chief Medical Officer for BreatheAmerica. In addition, he established a clinical research network for airway disease that involved multiple sites around the country. He returned to Vanderbilt as an Assistant Professor of Medicine to take a leadership role in developing and improving Vanderbilt’s clinical outreach programs. Dr. Hagaman currently serves as Medical Director for VASAP Outreach and will expand the VASAP program in Williamson County and additional external locations. Dr. Hagaman has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI).

University of Tennessee, Knoxville – BA Psychology

Amy Padilla graduated from Vanderbilt University with her masters in Nursing. She is certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Prior to joining the Spiras Health team, Amy worked in the retail health setting. Her past work includes family practice, urgent care, urogynecology, gastroenterology, and neurology.
