New members bring experience managing vulnerable populations and supporting high-risk individuals
Nashville, TN
Spiras Health, a provider of in-home and virtual healthcare solutions for patients with complex chronic conditions, announced today the addition of two healthcare veterans to its Board of Directors. Gabe Roberts, the founder and CEO of the Roberts Consulting Group (RCG) a healthcare advisory group, and Frazer Buntin, Chief Operating Officer of axialHealthcare, a substance use disorder management company, will join the Spiras Health Board effective immediately.
Roberts has deep expertise in state and federal healthcare policy and regulations. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of the Tennessee Medicaid agency (TennCare) in Governor Bill Lee’s administration, responsible for providing essential healthcare services to 1.4 million Tennesseans. During his tenure, Roberts was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Association of Medicaid Directors and was named a Fellow with the Medicaid Leadership Institute. As CEO of RCG, Roberts partners with health plans, providers, and government/health plan vendors to identify and operationalize market opportunities, drive enterprise value, and advance strategic priorities. Prior to his tenure at TennCare, during which time he served in multiple roles, Roberts was an attorney in private practice with the Nashville law firm Sherrard, Roe, Voigt and Harbison. Prior to law school, Roberts was a CPA with Ernst & Young.
Buntin is a healthcare veteran who has spent nearly two decades working with health plans and employers to develop value-based solutions to better serve high-risk patient groups. Prior to his role at axialHealthcare, Buntin served as Chief Operating Officer of Episode Solutions and as the President of Value Based Services division for Evolent Health. Prior to joining Evolent, Frazer served as Chief Executive Officer for WhiteGlove Health, a population health management firm providing comprehensive health services to self-insured employers and health plans.
“As Spiras Health grows, it is important that we have a board that represents a broad spectrum of expertise to support the strategic and operational direction of the company,” said Brook Bishop, Spiras Health founder and Chief Executive Officer. “Gabe and Frazer each bring a depth of knowledge and unique experience to our organization, and we are pleased to welcome them to our Board. Their insight and support will be invaluable as we continue to pursue our mission to support high-risk patients through personalized and comprehensive healthcare.”
